Anke Rice lives a truly cosmopolitan life. Born in Germany and raised in New York, she now lives in Monaco, Ibiza and also divides her time between Munich and London.

After studying law and interning at a bank—both of which she did “to please Daddy”—she decorated her first apartment in London as “keeping busy therapy,” an endeavor that brought her immediate success.

However, this free spirit acquired her confident sense of style in Paris, where she studied art history and French literature at the Sorbonne. The “therapeutic project,” along with her family, has become her biggest passion. Today, the international, self-taught designer manages projects in Monaco, Ibiza, Kitzbuehl, London and in the Cotswolds.

She also designs furniture for her own projects. She landed in Ibiza in 1977 when a violent storm struck her uncle’s sailboat—and it was love at first sight.
